Cheap Shot

Hi All,
Here is a really good cheap shot, attack, cold cock, whatever you want to call it . When it comes down to you or your opponent there are no rules. If you come across some person who just won't leave you alone after you have told him to stay away, you might just have to take them out by surprise. Say you have someone that's being hostile towards you and has just stepped into striking range. You say hey I don't want any trouble, now you are going to set them up for a right punch to the jaw or ear. As you are talking to them just look to your left over their shoulder, like you are watching someone coming up behind them. Pay close attention to their reaction they should try to glance /turn their head in that direction to see what you are looking at it's a natural instinct/ reaction, we all do it. As soon as he turns his head , step foward and slightly to your left with your left foot and right straight or roundhouse punch to his jaw,ear or eye hard ! This should put him down, they don't see it coming ,if not right kick using the top of your foot to the groin. You can also just kick him in the groin, this technique takes good timing so practice !

Peace, Jerry

Use Your Elbows

Found this technique in a note book I used to write down every technique I would learn in class.
This is good to use against a head hunter, most street fighters will try to hit you in the face first, this one teaches you not to stand in front of someone and trade blows.

Your opponent steps toward you and tries to hit you in the face/head, it doesn't matter if it's a big round house punch or a straight punch. He is punching with his right hand, step on a slight angle with your left foot and squat into a full horse under the punching arm and do a left back elbow to his ribs, now turn into a left horse and right front elbow to his ribs, come up behind his right arm and grab his right shoulder with your left hand and the back of his neck with your right hand and pull him down as you right knee up into his abdomen or stomach bending him over, after the knee turn and step into a right horse and drop your left elbow on to the back of his neck.

Give this one a try and be careful !

Breaking A Finger

Hi All,
This technique really puts the hurt on any attacker. Our fingers are one of the most sensitive parts of our body, that also makes them one of the most painful when hurt. This technique will put anyone out of the fighting mood.
Some hostile person is stepping toward you and tries to poke his right index finger onto your chest or push you with his right hand. You grab his wrist with your left hand and grab his finger with your right hand and stepping forward with your left foot push it back and down toward them hard, this will break their finger and drop them to their knees in front of you, keep hold of his finger and right knee into his face. Keep his arm toward the center of your body, this keeps your body weight on it. An interesting variation I saw on another site is to grab the wrist and in a chopping motion you insert your hand between the fingers and then grab one or two of the opponents fingers. If you give these techniques a try be careful !!

Enjoy , Jerry

Chop and Sweep

This is an easy technique to learn and works very well to put some one down quickly, it falls in the brutal and effective area because if you do it right the person won't get up for a long time or they may never get up. So learn and practice at your own risk !!

This is for a single handed grab to your chest, the other person grabs your shirt with their left hand and prepares to hit you with his right punch to your face. Since his left hand is busy holding your shirt he is now at a disadvantage, as soon as he grabs your shirt you take a step to your right with your right foot on a 45 degree angle, this puts you on the outside of his arm. As you step you grab his left arm at the wrist on the outside and hold it to your chest, now turn your body toward him and bring your right arm over his trapped left arm and do a back chop (your hand is flat with the palm down) strike him in the throat . Keep hold of his arm and grab his left shoulder with your right hand , pull back on his shoulder and at the same time kick is leg out, this will drop him to the ground, let go and leave !!
You probably won't get to do the whole technique, if you strike the throat or if you miss and hit his nose, fight will probably be over !!

If he is taller than you and you can't chop his throat, then turn and back elbow to the ribs, then down hammer to his groin, this should bend him over , now back chop to his throat. Practice this both ways.

Counter a Take Down

Hi ,
If you have ever seen a real street fight, then you know it's a mean and nasty business. A lot of people are in to Mixed Martial Arts these days and they have either trained for a while or just picked up some technique from the T.V. or friends. The most common thing they learn is the mma style take down and the ground and pound, rush in grab your legs or hips sit on top of your chest and pound your face with downward punches. This is not a good position for the guy on the bottom. Best thing is to avoid getting there. How do you do that ?

First keep your distance from them about the length of their leg plus a few inches.

Second stay moving don't just stand in front of them, if they try to get close to you move away.
They will throw some punches at you first, just stay cool and stay out of range.

Third if they try to take you down to the ground, as they bend and reach for your legs step forward on a 45 degree angle and step back with other foot. If you step in with your left foot and step back with your right, make sure your left leg is bent at the knee. If your into martial arts you will be in a left horse stance. Now as they contact your left leg, either hook under their right shoulder with your left arm or push down on it with your left hand at the same time shoot your left leg back and drop your right forearm onto the back of their neck as you go into a sprawl, this slams their face into the ground and with all your body weight on their neck from your forearm,
this could knock them out or break their neck so be very careful if you decide to try and practice it. A variation of this is to wrap your right arm around their neck as you sprawl and choke them out. But again you could really damage their neck, throat area. So only use this if you don't have any other choice !!
Practice this slowly and at you and your partner's own risk.
I'm just passing on info.

I've recently started posting other Fighting techniques at : http://hubpages.com/hub/Street-Fighting-Guide

Brutal Self Defense

The author of this excellent book is a former prison inmate and bouncer.

He shows you the techniques he used in prison and on the street to survive over 63

violent encounters.

Goes on to say you can put any attacker down in less than 3 minutes or less by

using 23 simply moves, outlined in his book.

Being a skilled fighter myself i know this to be true , you can put just about anybody

down if you know how and where to hit them.

After you learn how not to be frozen with fear which is covered in this book, your fights

should only last about 15 secounds. No Lie !!.

If your serious about self defense, this is a must read.

Some of the techniques I knew some I didn't.

Fighting from the ground is also covered. Street style of course !!.

Check it out HERE.
